How to add, test, pause and remove a platform

Add the platform, store the stream key in Windows Credential Manager and use Test the server before the stream. While live, Pause and Resume only affect that destination.

Add a platform

  1. Open Platforms.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Choose the platform: Twitch, YouTube, Kick, Facebook, TikTok, X, Instagram or Custom RTMP. TikTok, X and Instagram are still experimental.
  4. Paste the stream key and click Paste and save.
  5. If the Server URL field shows up, paste the rtmp:// or rtmps:// address shown in the platform's dashboard.

Corneta stores the stream key in Windows Credential Manager. The configuration file doesn't carry that key.

Test the server before the stream

Open the destination and click Test the server. The test checks whether the platform's server answers at the address you entered. It doesn't check the key: a wrong or expired key only shows up when the stream goes live.

If the result says Couldn't find or No answer, check the server URL in the platform's dashboard and your network.

The Ready badge doesn't depend on the test. It appears when the destination has a name, a valid URL and a key in Windows Credential Manager.

Pause or resume during the stream

On the Live screen, use Pause on the destination that needs to drop out. Twitch can stay on air while Kick is paused, for example. Use Resume to open that output again.

If the platform refuses the key, that destination shows The platform turned down your stream key and the others stay on air. Paste the new key in Platforms and click Try again on the Live screen.

Pausing doesn't delete the key or the settings. Removing does something else: it takes the destination out of the active profile.

Remove a platform

On the Platforms screen, open the destination and click Remove. It goes away right away; if that was a mistake, click Undo in the notice that appears. Do this outside the stream. If you just won't use the platform today, turn the destination off instead of removing it.

To delete only the stream key, use the Remove next to Stream key in Windows Credential Manager and confirm with Remove it for real?.
